Conservation and Restoration

About Us

After an early apprenticeship, travelling widely and learning with a variety of master craftsmen, Lawrence Brass established an independent practice in the West Country in 1973.

With his team of specialists, he has formed an organisation of highly skilled and experienced craftsmen covering all aspects of professional conservation and restoration.

Clients include private owners, public collections and national and international antiques galleries and museums - Lawrence Brass' work is on display in, amongst others, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Castle Museum in York and the British Empire and Commonwealth Museum in Bristol.

Lawrence Brass is widely consulted on conservation, display, authenticity etc. and has advised galleries, private buyers, institutional buyers and international museums such as the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, and is on the list of approved conservators and restorers held by the United Kingdom Museums and Galleries Commission.
